(ABC News)       <\/a><\/p>\n<p>Today CASA spokesman Peter Gibson told ABC Radio Canberra that formal approval for the project had been given.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;We&#039;ve gone through all the thorough safety assessment we did for the Bonython operation, we&#039;ve done that now for Mitchell and surrounding suburbs. (ABC News: Jake Evans)       <\/a><\/p>\n<p>The drones were below legal noise limits, but Project Wing has since developed a new, quieter, model for its Mitchell operation.<\/p>\n<p>A local inquiry into drone delivery has heard no agency currently has remit to handle noise issues \u2014 CASA and the ACT Government both denied they had jurisdiction to manage noise issues. <\/p>\n<h2>Five suburbs to receive service<\/h2>\n<p>The new Mitchell operation will initially deliver goods from a dozen local businesses to five suburbs in Gungahlin, in Canberra&#039;s north.<\/p>\n<p>The head of Project Wing previously said the depot was ready to operate, but was waiting for approval.<\/p>\n<p>     <a href=\"https:\/\/www.abc.net.au\/news\/2019-04-09\/drone-flying-above-canberra\/10983786\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">                                                                    <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mdpair.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/10953682-3x2-700x467.jpg\" alt=\"A drone flying above a playing field in Canberra.
