Drones could follow yobs back to their homes as part of a new police trial to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour.
Greater Manchester Police is forming a new drone unit and is currently training officers to use eye-in-the-sky technology to thwart crooks.
The airborne devices will be used to photograph offenders and could even track them to their home address – potentially leading to evictions for serial wrongdoers.
Supt Chris Hill said: “We are looking at utilising new technologies in order to aid frontline policing and safeguard communities.
“As part of this we have trained pilots who are trialling the use of drones to support frontline policing. We will make the public aware of any further developments when we are able to.”

Top 10 Strategic Technology Trends in 2019
Gartner has identified top 10 Strategic Technology Trends that an organization needs to explore in 2019.
“The Intelligent Digital Mesh has been a consistent theme for the past two years and continues as a major driver through 2019. Trends under each of these three themes are a key ingredient in driving a continuous innovation process as part of a ContinuousNEXT strategy,” said David Cearley, vice president and Gartner Fellow. “For example, artificial intelligence (AI) in the form of automated things and augmented intelligence is being used together with IoT, edge computing and digital twins to deliver highly integrated smart spaces. This combinatorial effect of multiple trends coalescing to produce new opportunities and drive new disruption is a hallmark of the Gartner top 10 strategic technology trends for 2019.”
The top 10 strategic technology trends for 2019 are:

Drones fitted with infra-red cameras could soon be flying over paddocks helping sheep farmers save newborn lambs.
The drones take thermal images of flocks that can then be used to assess the health of lambs.
The so-called 'lambulance' is a concept devised by a team at the Tasmanian Institute of Agriculture (TIA).
“The ewe and the lamb have a heat signature,” lambulance co-creator Andrew Bailey said.
“What we're trying to do is relate that heat signature to the likelihood of success for that animal staying alive.”

The UK's Ministry of Defence is “actively” trying to create fully autonomous killer drones, according to a report (PDF) by a campaign group.
“Powered by advances in artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, and computing, we are likely to see the development not only of drones that are able to fly themselves – staying aloft for extended periods – but those which may also be able to select, identify, and destroy targets without human intervention,” said campaign group Drone Wars UK in its latest report, titled “Off The Leash: The development of autonomous military drones in the UK”.

First impressions are vital in the real estate space; in fact, 50 percent of buyers found the home they purchased via the internet, according to the 2017 National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) Profile of Home Buyers and Sellers. Today, buyers are flooded by a sea of options when browsing for a home online; therefore, it’s more important than ever that REALTORS® make their listings stand out.
One option? Using drones, or unmanned aerial systems (UAS), for aerial photography and videography.
“Drones can play an important role in telling a compelling story for a listing,” says AJ Canaria, executive brand promoter at PlanOmatic, who emphasizes that the art of storytelling in real estate has evolved, making drones an increasingly popular tool for breathing in life to a property’s narrative.
