Travel Industry Photos has completed certification by the FAA to fly and offer drone hotel photography and video services to their clients.

PORTLAND, Ore. (PRWEB) April 10, 2019

As Brett and Sally Patterson have stayed on top of the ever-changing technology behind hotel photography and video, drones are finally able to capture still photography suitable for web and print. End users have high expectations as it relates to quality, and they wanted to ensure their drone still photography and videos matched their current quality of work.

To officially be able to offer these services, the team had to become certified by the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration). This certification provides a license to pilot these unmanned aircraft. The FAA requires that all pilots flying drones for commercial purposes be licensed under Part 107, meaning any pilot flying and shooting for hotels and resorts will need such certification.

“The FAA is very demanding that commercial drone pilots be proficient in safety and operational standards,” states Brett Patterson, Chief Photographer for Travel Industry Photos. “Becoming certified and implementing a quality drone for our business was an easy decision. This tool becomes a great option for our clients, and allows us to present properties in a dynamic visual way previously unavailable at this price point.”

Their chosen technology is the Mavic 2 Pro, the first drone of its kind to offer optics provided by Hasselblad. With a one-inch 20mp sensor, this drone creates imagery that meets and exceeds the digital requirements of every major hotel brand.

Travel Industry Photos is already a hotel brand approved photographer for Marriott (SpringHill Suites, Residence Inn, Fairfield Inn, Courtyard, TownePlace Suites, Four Points, Aloft, Marriott Corporate, Sheraton), Hilton (DoubleTree, Embassy Suites, Hilton Garden Inn, Tru by Hilton, Homewood Suites, Home2 Suites, Hampton Inn) and IHG (Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Crowne Plaza, Staybridge Suites, Candlewood Suites). Located near Portland, Oregon, Travel Industry Photos was founded by Sally and Brett Patterson in 2006. The team travels the country to produce impactful architectural imagery for the hospitality industry. With an emphasis on high quality lighting, their architectural product has become approved by major brands within Marriott, Hilton and Intercontinental Hotels Group. Prior to 2006, before honing on hospitality, the company’s photography focus was shooting on location for advertising and print clients, specializing in celebrity and travel photography. The unique technique used by Travel Industry Photos involves taking 30-40 individual images of each room, with the camera locked in place. A portable lighting system emphasizes the details of each area, utilizing Photoshop to layer these images by hand. The exposures are blended to create a single photo utilizing the best part of each image, eliminating shadows and blown out windows. For more information, call 503-871-5405 or visit their website.
