Before committing to a building design, a client wanted to understand what the surrounding view would look like from several proposed elevations. mdpAIR used a drone to capture a visual height study and produced the video below so the client could evaluate the view before construction.

What will be visible from the planned building at different heights? Traditional plans can describe elevation, but they do not always communicate the real-world horizon, nearby development, landscape, and sightlines as clearly as location-specific aerial video.

Can a drone show the view from more than one proposed height?
Yes. The capture plan can include multiple agreed elevations and viewing directions when conditions and applicable flight rules allow.
Can the video replace architectural or engineering analysis?
No. It is a visual communication and planning aid, not a survey, engineering determination, or guarantee of the completed building’s exact view.
